Aussie Pub Classic
Another simple classic for tea tonight. There’s something incredibly satisfying about steak and chips, and it’s actually something I rarely order when we’re out. My thinking is that if you buy a decent steak, you can usually cook it just as well at home!
Kept things very Aussie with chips, absolutely covered in chicken salt for Glen of course, some peas and a simple mushroom gravy.
Nothing particularly groundbreaking with this one, just good ingredients cooked properly. Seasoned the steaks generously, got the pan really hot and cooked them for around three minutes each side before leaving them to rest. Chips went in the oven, peas were cooked with a frankly unreasonable amount of salt, and the mushroom gravy brought everything together.
Sometimes dinner doesn’t need a grand concept or seventeen ingredients. Steak, chips, peas and gravy. Job done.
